At Spaceless Marketing, we’re proud to call Downtown Grimsby home. What started as a local marketing agency has grown into a company serving businesses across Niagara and Canada, but our roots remain firmly planted right here in our community. Being part of Grimsby’s downtown isn’t just where we work, it’s where we’ve built relationships, supported local businesses, raised our families, and invested our time into helping our town grow.
That commitment extends beyond business. Spaceless owner Ben Burns serves on both the Board of Directors for the Grimsby Business Improvement Area and the Board of Directors for the Grimsby & District Chamber of Commerce. Through these roles, he works alongside other local leaders and business owners to support initiatives that strengthen the community, encourage economic growth, and help ensure Grimsby remains a vibrant place to live, work, and do business. It’s a responsibility we take seriously because we believe strong communities are built when local businesses actively contribute to the places they call home.
That’s why today’s groundbreaking ceremony for Downtown Reimagined is such an exciting milestone. Joined by Mayor Jeff Jordan, Members of Council, provincial and federal representatives, Town staff, project partners, and community organizations, the Town of Grimsby officially kicked off a major investment into the future of our downtown core. This project represents more than construction. It’s a long-term investment in the infrastructure, accessibility, safety, and economic vitality of our community.
The first phase of the project will focus on replacing century-old underground watermains and renewing critical infrastructure beneath our streets. While much of the work will happen below ground, the benefits will be felt for decades to come. The improvements will create a safer and more accessible downtown, support local businesses, improve the pedestrian experience, and help preserve the character that makes Grimsby unique. The project is supported in part by a $1.9 million joint federal and provincial investment through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, helping fund the renewal of critical water infrastructure in the downtown core.
As a business located just steps away from where this work is taking place, we understand that construction can bring temporary disruptions. But we also know that meaningful progress requires investment. Downtown Grimsby has always been the heart of our community, and projects like this ensure it remains a destination where residents, visitors, and businesses can continue to thrive.
Most importantly, Downtown Grimsby remains fully open for business throughout construction. The restaurants, shops, service providers, and local businesses that make this community special are ready to welcome customers all summer long. Supporting local businesses during this period is one of the best ways to help ensure our downtown remains strong while these important improvements take shape.
At Spaceless, we’re excited to see this vision become reality. We’re proud to support initiatives that strengthen our town, and we’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to invest in its future. Downtown Reimagined is more than an infrastructure project. It’s an investment in the next chapter of Grimsby’s story, and we’re excited to watch it unfold.
